Celebrating over 800 years in Cambridge

Our Heritage Ministry celebrates the Christian heritage of Great St Mary's, the University and the city of Cambridge.

Heritage is a key focus of our outreach to schools, the local community and visitors from all over the world.

Great St Mary's is a hub for heritage activities which bring alive the unique history of Cambridge.

With a major grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund we have created a dynamic heritage education centre at the heart of Cambridge.

Five interactive touchscreens now showcase detailed research by volunteers on the history of the church and city.

Every visitor can explore the rich heritage of our beautiful church and the remarkable history of Cambridge, thanks to our interactive touchscreens, public eventsschool visits, activities for language schools, historical tours and talks, and family activities in the school holidays.

Volunteers welcome visitors and offer families free activities.
